Moulay Bouazza and Boujad

مولاي بوعزة وأبي الجعد

Inland from Casablanca, in the hills of Khenifra province, lies Moulay Bouazza, resting place of Abu Yaʿza Yalannur (d. 1177), the Berber master of Abu Madyan. A day’s drive south is Boujad, a town that grew around the Sharqawi zawiya, where Sidi Muhammad al-Muʿti compiled Dhakhīrat al-Muḥtāj, a vast collection of blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. The Central Morocco Spiritual Journey visits both from Casablanca.

Getting there. From Casablanca, Moulay Bouazza is 216 km, about 3 hours. Boujad is 89 km from Moulay Bouazza and 158 km from Casablanca airport (CMN), about 2 hours.
